The "big Lama" from VARIO is a 1150 size scale helicopter. You can power this remote-controlled model helicopter with gasoline (benzin), turbine or electric propulsion. Aérospatiale is the creator of the man-carrying version.
The hinged doors are large at 340 x 310 mm, and extra strength is obtained from integral corrugations in the GRP frame. The fuselage is of impressive length, but transport is eased by the removable tail boom: the entire boom can be removed after undoing just three screws.
For VARIO's 1150 Lama SA 315 B we recommend a maximum main rotor speed of 850 rpm. Electric drive sets from VARIO are already tuned to this head speed.
