Description

The "big Bell 430" from VARIO is a 1050 size scale helicopter. You can power this remote-controlled model helicopter with turbine or electric propulsion. Bell Helicopter is the creator of the man-carrying version. The model incorporates GRP technology which substantially shortens the required building time. The 2.5 l fueltank - itself a GRP moulding - doubles up as a support for the undercarriage. The retractable undercarriage is mounted on the transverse member below the tank. The kerosene refuelling system is sealed with a rubber nipple. The constant low pressure inside the tank draws the nipple firmly against the refuelling opening. That is also the reason why a mechanism such as a spring-controlled valve is not suitable, because the low pressure tends to push the spring back as spring tension diminishes.
