Ballraces are used wherever moving parts are required to run with a minimum of play and a minimum of friction. The more ballraces are used, the more smoothly the mechanics of a helicopter works, and the lower the rate of wear. The dimensions of a ballrace mean: inside diameter (I.D.) x outside diameter (O.D.) x thickness. For flanged bearings the same...

Ball joints, especially on helicopters that are flown actively by 3-D pilots, are subject to very strong forces. Due to necessary large control movements the ball joints can stretch over a period of time. Therefore all ball joints of the rotor head control system should be checked after each flying day. You can get additional safety by using our ball joint security set. The slightly domed and straight washers prevent jumping off of stretched ball joints. Very important: If you change mechanical control movement at the rotor head always check the max. and min. pitch as well as the full cyclic movements to make sure there is no binding. To do this properly turn the rotor head by hand without the blades attached. The set contains all washers and balls as well as high tension socket head bolts to secure the two angled pushrods.
