Scalpel

When you need to cut individual items out of a decal sheet, or separate rows of self-adhesive rivets, it is best to use a scalpel and a steel ruler (cutting tool set, complete: Ord.No. 11/58).
Use a suitable sub-surface (flat, dense card) and press down on the steel ruler to exert even pressure; this will prevent the ruler slipping. Place the scalpel blade against the edge of the ruler and you will obtain a clean cut. Trim stripes and rows of rivets which are to be wrapped around curves should be cut out as narrow as possible using the ruler and scalpel, then they will conform to the curvature without forming wrinkles.
