When you build your first model helicopter you will find all the linkage components required to connect the servos to the mechanics supplied with the RC set (German radio systems only). When you come to installing servos in other models you can use this servo linkage set which contains all the link balls, screws, nuts and screw-fitting pushrod...
The pointed tip and the extremely sharp, double-edged blade of this tool are particularly good for cutting holes in thin materials such as GRP and other plastics.
The hole-cutter requires no centre-punching and no pilot-hole, and produces a neat hole of infinitely variable diameter within the range 3 to 14 mm.
The handle doubles as protection and storage for the cutter.
Tip - marking the size of the hole: use a waterproof felt-tip pen or similar to mark the desired diameter on the blade; score the outline of the opening on the workpiece using dividers, or mark off from a round template such as a ballrace.

Good thread-cutting oil is as important as the tap, as it extends the useful life of the tool several times over.

When screwing together parts in the mechanics (direct linkage) Allen screws are preferable to normal screws; use M 2.5 for Futaba servos and M 3 for Graupner / JR servos. We supply all required sizes of drills and taps for the work on your model helicopter.

When you need a threaded hole in a workpiece, you just drill a core hole, then drive a tap into it to cut the thread. The best method of thread-cutting by hand is to use a ratchet tool holder, as this gives you the best chance of keeping the thread "straight". The ratchet can be switched to right-hand and left-hand locking, plus a rigid (no ratchet)...

Most hardware stores offer a very good range of tools like drills. However, when you need special sizes for our special helicopter application, it is very helpful to have a drill set handy which includes exactly the right diameters. Typical applications: Drill 1.8 mm Ø for flange-head self-tapping screwsDrill 2.0 mm Ø for M 2.5 threadsDrill 2.5 mm...
